Douglas Bates

Douglas Bates

Douglas has been Chairman of FIIG Securities Limited since November 2000 and Executive Chairman since assuming a full time role with FIIG in July 2009. 

Douglas is a Barrister and has over 25 years’ experience as a legal practitioner in London, Hong Kong and Brisbane primarily practicing in financial services, corporate and commercial law. 

Douglas has a Bachelor of Laws, a Master of Laws and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Douglas is a member of the Nominations and Remuneration and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees.

Jim Stening

Jim Stening
Founder & Acting Managing Director

Jim founded FIIG Securities Limited in 1998 and is currently the Acting Managing Director.

With more than 30 years’ experience in financial markets, interest rate product development and international fixed income trading, with firms including Merrill Lynch, Banco Santander (Singapore) and National Australia Bank. Jim has extensive knowledge of fixed income, cash and derivative markets. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Queensland Treasury Corporation, where he is Chairman of the Funding and Markets Committee. 

Jim is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Diploma of Financial Services. 

Jim is the Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and a member of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee.

Adam Lewis

Non-Executive Director

Adam Lewis is an alumnus of McKinsey & Company, where he spent 20 years as an advisor to major firms and governments in Australia & New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America. 

At McKinsey, Adam was a partner for 14 years, Director (senior partner) for 9, and managing partner Australia & New Zealand for 7 years and was a member of McKinsey’s Asia council, and global Director election committees.

Since leaving McKinsey in 2010, Adam has become Chairman of Aconex Limited (ASX: ACX); Chairman of Southern Innovation; a high-tech company based in Australia and Chairman of Swatchmate Pty Ltd, a colour technology start-up. 

Adam is also Chairman of Cast Professional Services which provides flexible consulting resources for corporations in need of short-term or project expertise and is also on the advisory Board of The Smith Family and the Public Policy Committee of the Grattan Institute.

Adam is Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Don Luke

Don Luke
Non-Executive Director

Don is currently Non-Executive Chair of QIC, M.H.Carnegie & Co, and Anglicare North Queensland. He is a member of the Managed Investment Schemes Compliance Committee for AMP Capital Funds Management Limited, National Mutual Funds Management Ltd, and ipac Asset Management Limited.

Don was a Non-Executive Director of AMP Capital Investors Limited and AMP Capital Holdings for seven years until March 2014 and was the Executive Director of the Community Services Commission for the Anglican Church in South Queensland for five years until 2012.  Prior to this role, Don was CEO of Sunsuper for ten years until May 2007, and prior to that Qld Manager for AMP.

Don earned a Bachelor of Science in Maths and Physics and later a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics from the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Don is a member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
